Overview


DureTek’s Aerodynamic Hybrid Muzzle Brake unites recoil control and flash suppression in a single lightweight module, sharpened by an aerodynamic internal structure. It counters recoil and suppresses muzzle flash — and, uncommonly, contributes to higher projectile velocity — all within one device.

The Challenge


Conventionally, muzzle brakes and flash suppressors are separate components built for different purposes. Mounting both adds weight and muzzle length, degrading maneuverability and handling — and the two functions can even work against each other. Worse still, the very act of venting gas to control recoil has always meant surrendering firing energy.

Our Approach



DureTek reinterpreted recoil control and flash suppression not as competing demands, but as capabilities that can be optimized together within one integrated structure. We combined both into a single lightweight module and applied an aerodynamic design that manages muzzle-gas flow with precision.

The result counters recoil and suppresses flash effectively, while turning muzzle-gas flow to the weapon’s advantage — adding projectile velocity rather than sacrificing it.
