Overview


DureTek’s Ballistic-Optimized Rifling is a proprietary rifling technology engineered to do two things at once: stabilize the projectile in flight and put chamber pressure to work. By ensuring the projectile is perfectly aligned with the barrel at the instant of firing, it raises both shot-to-shot consistency and firing efficiency at their source.

 

The Challenge


Small arms accumulate minute mechanical errors — through manufacturing tolerances and through repeated use. When the projectile’s central axis drifts out of line with the barrel’s centerline, the round leaves the barrel without engaging the rifling cleanly, and its trajectory turns unstable. These errors are invisible to the eye, yet they act directly on accuracy and effective range.

 

Our Approach


DureTek reinterpreted rifling not as a means of merely spinning the projectile, but as a critical interface that optimizes flight and firing energy together. By correcting alignment errors and trajectory instability, we ensure the round engages the rifling precisely — while a purpose-built geometry channels chamber pressure directly into projectile velocity.

The result is a single rifling technology that meets two goals at once: harnessing firing energy without waste, and securing the projectile’s stability in flight.
