Overview
DureTek’s Detachable Chamber is a proprietary technology that solves one of the oldest and most fundamental problems in small arms: the performance loss caused by chamber wear. By reengineering the chamber as an independent, replaceable module — separate from the barrel — it preserves reliability and precision across the entire service life of the weapon.
The Challenge
Every round fired takes a toll. As use accumulates, the chamber expands and the barrel’s centerline drifts subtly out of true. These changes are invisible at first, but over time they erode accuracy and reliability — until the entire barrel, or other major components, must be replaced. In high-intensity operations, that day arrives far sooner.
Our Approach
DureTek moved beyond the long-held assumption that the chamber and barrel must be a single, fixed unit. We reimagined the chamber as an independent, replaceable module. Because wear concentrates in the chamber, swapping that section alone restores the weapon to peak condition — without replacing the entire barrel.
This modular architecture is engineered to hold precise alignment, maintaining true conformity with the barrel’s centerline even after repeated module changes.
