Flight Stability Technology

One of the areas that have not made progress in technology for more than 100 years is the projectile of the bullets. We think it was because no one thought that groundbreaking technology would be developed in this field. DureTek is developing new concept projectiles that no one has tried. Here is the answer to improving the performance of conventional weapons, High Performance Projectile(HPP) Technology No. 1 Flight Stability.
  • Air-Guiding Grooves help to reduce vortex core.
    • This comes as a result of reduction of drag force.

  • Recoil is reduced by air-guiding grooves.
    • When a bullet is fired, gases coming out of the muzzle are evenly escaped by air-guiding grooves.

  • HPP technology shifts the center of gravity(CG) by changing the internal configuration.
    • The distance between the center of gravity and the center of pressure(CP) becomes closer.
    • This tech. reduces the Yaw angle and delays the time it occurs.
 

Experiment Results

  1. Experiments
    1. Long range shooting experiments was conducted to verified the flight stability technology. (*Effective range in NATO: penetrate the SAE1010 steel plate of 3.43mm thickness.)
    2. Accuracy tests for comparison between HPP and existing bullet.
    3. Penetrating experiments were conducted on 6.5mm armor-plate(MARS500).
  2. Results
    1. Compared to the 5.56mm caliber M855 (K100) and 7.62mm caliber M80 and KA37 bullets, the effective range was almost two to three times longer.
    2. HPP is all less than 0.8 MOA.
    3. HPP can penetrate a Armor-plate of 6.5mm(MARS500) but the existing bullet cannot penetrate.

In conclusion, this HPP technology improves all of the performance. it does not change the caliber, this technology can be applied to all types of projectiles(5.56mm ~ 155mm). Thus, the HPP can use on existing firearms and canon.

7.62mm Dr16A1 is successfully developed as high-performance projectile(7.62mm Dr16A1).

DureTek has developed ammunition that increases the combat power of 7.62mm rifles. The technology used in the high-performance projectile of the 5.56mm Dr16A1 was also applied to the 7.62mm. It penetrates hard-steel-plates even at 300m. The effective range is up to 1,200m(SAE1010/3.5T steel-plate, CP).

In addition, anti-material sniper ammunition(7.62mm Dr16A2) is being developed.

DureTek has experiences and technologies to satisfy the performance required by users. Thus, It is being developed with the performance required by the ROK military.
