[Headline] Nov. 2023, Proceeding mass production of Muzzle Brake for Recoilless small-arms

On the 6th of this month, Duretek will proceed for mass production of the recoil reduction device developed using Duretek’s fluid engineering technology. Over the past 12 months, Duretek has conducted a Rapid Demonstration Project with DAPA & ROKA to enhance the performance of ammunition, and it has received military recognition for its test evaluation and operational effectiveness in field tactics. During the project, the developed muzzle brake was tested during quality control shooting and it was confirmed that there was a recoil reduction of over 60% even with the existing ammunition in the conventional rifle. At the same time, Duretek’s Dr16A1(High-performance ammunition) incorporates a technology that reduces recoil (at the moment of detachment from the muzzle), having a synergistic effect with muzzle brake developed by Duretek and proving superior recoil and gas discharge effects compared to the existing muzzle brake attached to the small-arms. The results confirmed an recoil reduction effect of over 80%. Additionally, R&D for the enhanced Muzzle Brake based on the additional requirements requested by the military was completed.

The developed muzzle brake(recoil and gas reducer) can be directly applied to existing rifles and is also applicable to rifles of all calibers. In addition, without the need for separate research and development, it can be used by our military in the early stages of new generation rifles. As a result, our military’s combat capabilities will greatly increase with better rifles than before. Furthermore, we will continue to develop recoil reduction devices and suppressors with better functionality through ongoing independent research and development.

In the future, Duretek will actively support the enhancement of our military’s combat capabilities by collaborating with partner companies or businesses in need of technology that is compatible with high-performance ammunition.
