December 28, 2023 – DureTek is gearing up for the mass production of a muzzle brake designed to stabilize the trajectory of hobbyist-grade airsoft gun pellets (BB pellets) starting in the first half of 2024.
On December 28, DureTek announced its initiative to manufacture the “DureTek Muzzle Brake,” a device originally developed to reduce heat, noise, and recoil in military rifles. In the process, the company conducted shooting experiments with traditional BB pellets, applying the same principles. The results confirmed that the DureTek Muzzle Brake effectively stabilizes the trajectory of BB pellets, addressing the instability issues observed with conventional gun barrels. This breakthrough extends the application of the muzzle brake beyond military use to sports and hobbyist settings, providing a consistent flight trajectory for BB pellets.
Performance tests conducted in December 2023, using rifles equipped with the muzzle brake, involved a comparative experiment to assess the device’s impact. The results, based on shooting 30 rounds each, demonstrated a remarkable improvement of over 2 times in precision (accuracy) compared to conventional setups.
With this development, enthusiasts can now achieve a consistent flight trajectory for BB pellets, ensuring precision during engagements and enhancing the overall enjoyment of hobbyist activities.
DureTek aims to commence domestic production in South Korea in the first half of next year, making the innovative device available to Korean hobbyists. Simultaneously, DureTek plans to address the demand for high-performance muzzle brakes in the South Korean military, ensuring widespread adoption for military applications.
