Aug. 2023, DureTek has secured patent rights for technology of natural super-cavitation generated in major countries including European and the USA. As a results, DureTek has successfully acquired key technologies applicable to firearms and ammunition. The underwater projectile(DrMEP), utilizing the preempted technology, has completed experimental environments with 5.56mm and 7.62mm calibers as well as field tests. In order to prioritize supply to ROK military, DureTek plans to rapidly proceed with field tests for military application from next year.<\/p>\n
The ROK military has already recognized the military suitability of the Dr16A1 incorporating DureTek’s technology through the Rapid Demonstration Acquisition Project (RDAP) in Feb. 2023. Due to the previous experience of field testing for new ammunition, it is anticipated that rapid field tests for underwater projectiles(DrMEP) will also be feasible in the future. If DrMEP & Dr16A1 are supplied together, the ROK military will be able to operate ground and underwater simultaneously, enabling combat in various terrains without constraints and projecting a potential increase of 2 to 3 times in firepower.<\/p>\n
DureTek plans to continuously secure and enhance core technologies for ammunition performance improvement and develop ultra-lightweight rapid weapon systems that can be applied to drone defense and closed-in weapon system on battleship using DrMEP and Dr16A1. Additionally, DureTek plans to collaborate with companies and institutions for the development of new combat systems using the DureTek’s ammunition. DureTek also aims to promote cooperation and supply of new ammunition globally.<\/p>\n
